Immediate Theatre

Immediate Theatre works closely with young people at high risk of exclusion by developing productions which allow them to engage in the process of change. This involves them making art through performance and workshops, drawing on their imagination to explore issues facing them every day, at home, in school, or on the streets.

In 2008, Immediate Theatre produced "Can I Go Out?", a forum play about anxieties concerning street safety. A new play, "Beat Them / Join Them?", has been developed for Years 7 and 8 with young people with disabilities and those at risk of exclusion to deal with issues like how to be an individual while facing pressures to conform, and the impact decisions have on health and wellbeing.

Although the company is based in Hackney, they have teamed up with Face Front Inclusive Theatre in Enfield and Theatre Venture in Stratford to work
across northeast London.
